The staff created a welcoming atmosphere right from the start. I appreciated the quick response to my requests for extra pillows and an iron. The breakfast had a variety of options that were freshly cooked, which started each day off right. The hotel's location is fantastic, just a short walk to the theatre. I faced issues with the hot water in the shower. it got scalding hot unexpectedly. The cleanliness of the room could have been better as well, with some debris left behind from previous guests. Parking information was misleading. I expected more guidance when I arrived. It was also unfortunate that check-in wasn’t until 4 PM, while check-out was quite early at 10 AM, making the stay feel a bit rushed.

Just a great fit for a city break in Eastbourne with great value-to-price ratio. The porridge at breakfast was pretty good. Try to avoid peak check-in times to save time.

the hotel is a hidden gem but not in a good way! my room was incredibly small, with a bed that squeaked like a rusty gate, and only a pathetic single pillow. honestly, for the price, a late checkout shouldn’t be as expensive as a five-star stay. i almost gave a good review, but then i just couldn't.

i had a wonderful stay at the carlton. the deluxe king room was large and spacious, making it very comfortable. the location was perfect, just minutes from the promenade with plenty of dining options nearby. the staff were super helpful at our arrival, which really set a positive tone for our visit.

Rooms were on the smaller side, particularly the so-called 'deluxe' twin, which felt cramped with two singles pushed together. Several guests reported issues like low shower pressure and the water getting scaldingly hot, which wasn’t a pleasant surprise. On top of that, cleanliness seemed inconsistent, with some rooms lacking fresh sheets and having leftover debris from previous occupants. The lack of tea and coffee supplies in rooms felt a bit cheap and overall, the décor could really use a refresh as it came off as quite dated.

We stayed for a night. The room was small but comfy, and I liked that it was neat and tidy. The breakfast was decent, with freshly cooked options that hit the spot. Just wish the shower had better pressure. it was a bit weak and frustrating. it's a chill place close to the beach.

I loved the large room with its plenty of windows and the super comfy mattress that made for a great night's sleep. There’s a cozy lounge area and a nice patio for relaxation too. Just a heads up, the wifi was a bit hit or miss at first but overall it didn't dampen my stay! 😊

Nice place with free wi-fi in rooms, a bar/lounge area, and express check-in. The staff even returned my forgotten earphones. I always feel welcomed and valued here. Highly recommend for a great stay!
